Visiting a new church is a big step. Let us take a shot at answering any questions you have before you join us. Have a question that isn’t answered below you can email us here.
What time are your services?
We meet on Sundays at 10:30am. Kids ministries occur at the same time.
Where do you meet?
We meet every Sunday at R Bruce Wagner Elementary at 10:30am. 5500 Yates Rd. Lakeland FL 33811.
We also have church offices where our youth group and Thursday Night Sunday School meet. The address is 2806 Drane Field Rd. Lakeland FL 33811.
What should I expect?
At Discover Church you can expect free coffee, safe children's environments, friendly people, engaging worship music, and a great message that will help you grow in understanding of God’s love for you. In the end we are a life giving, Jesus centered, bible preaching church.
Do you have services for kids and youth?
Yes! Kids and youth are centered in our community. We have a 0-24 month nursery, preschool, and elementary age rooms every Sunday during normal service times.
Can my kids stay with me in service?
Of course they can. While we have incredible, fun filled environments for each age that help them grow in a relationship with Jesus on their own level, we understand there are times when we want to keep our kids with us, so they are welcome in our service with you if you prefer.
Do I have to give money?
Let us start by assuring you that giving is designed for regular attendees and that visitors are not expected to donate. We want our service to be a gift to you. We offer many ways for people to give toward the church online, and have a drop box in the back of the room, but we do not “pass the bucket” at every service so you wont feel pressured.
Where do I park?
If it’s your first time visiting us, turn on your hazard lights when entering the parking lot so we can treat you as our VIP. A parking attendant will come out to your car and let you know where to park.
How long do services typically last?
Our worship services typically last for about 90 minutes. 30 minutes of singing and worship is followed by a sermon and spiritual practice. Don’t be shy to linger a little longer after the service - we have free coffee!
What should I wear?
Come exactly as you are - don’t dress up or down for anyone.
Is your church accessible?
We have made sure that our building is accessible for people of all different abilities. We have ramps for wheelchairs, and if you need help but don’t have a wheel chair we have one for you.
Can I watch services online if I can’t attend in person?
Absolutely! Videos of church are posted on Sunday evening after service both here on our website and on our YouTube page.
What denomination is the church affiliated with?
At Discover Church we are non-denominational. Our beliefs are available in depth on our beliefs page.
How do I join the church?
If you would like to become a part of the membership family at Discover, we have a really simple process for that. We call it Discover Steps. It is 2 online classes that you can take on your own time and at your own pace. These classes will teach you about who we are, what we believe, and how you can be involved. We would love to have you come be a part at Discover Church.
